A Jumble Sale will be held on 17th October at the Galphay Village HalI, from12 till 4pm
If you have any jumble to donate, please leave it under the covered part of the village hall.
The sale is held to raise funds for SYD – Saving Yorkshire’s Dogs based near West Tanfield.
SYD is a small Rescue run by Volunteers who, since July 2014 have rehomed over 65 dogs.
Dogs are brought in by Dog Wardens having been found wandering about (usually dumped) or owners who for personal reasons can no longer look after the dogs.
Some dogs arrive in a terrible state with possible behavioural problems. However, a warm bed, regular meals, vet treatment, regular exercise, socialisation with both dogs and humans and love and kindness soon bring them out of their shells.
It is wonderful to see the changes in these poor dogs after only a couple of days.
Larry the Lurcher went to his ‘furever’ home last week after 3 years in Rescue which just proves every dog does have its day!
